My name is Michael Novak. My family and I live at 1445 North State Parkway in Chicago, Illinois. We have lived here since September 2003. The subject property, built in 1959, has 160 units and was converted into condominiums on November 5, 1992. It has been run by a bully board of directors since at least March 2005. In the picture above, State Parkway is the 28-story building that is directly beneath the westernmost baseball diamond in Lincoln Park.
State Parkway’s Board of Directors and I are currently in litigation. If you stay tuned to this blog, you’ll read about the massive fraud, oppression and misapplication and wasting of assets at State Parkway. In fact, on January 29, 2016, I filed a 197-page memorandum of law in support of my motion for the state court to appoint a custodian to manage State Parkway’s affairs. A hearing has yet to be held.
As for litigation history, State Parkway’s Board of Directors sued me on March 31, 2008. I countersued in January 2009, and in October 2010, my wife and I filed a second charge with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. State Parkway’s Board of Directors dismissed its lawsuit against me on May 9, 2011. On December 12, 2013, my family and I escalated our fair housing complaint in federal district court after the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Human Rights Commission both failed to do their jobs. I’m representing myself as pro se in both cases. In the meantime, due to litigation in both federal and state courts, I have to be very careful with what I write in my blog posts.
